Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Tonit collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Tonit mobile application and related services (together, the "Service"). Tonit helps adults share what they are up for tonight, join plans from others, and chat so they can spend real moments together.
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Summary. We collect the information you give us—such as your account details, profile, plans, posts, and messages—along with limited technical and purchase information needed to run the Service. We store it on secure cloud servers. We do not sell your personal information, we do not use third-party advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites for ads.
1. Who can use Tonit
The Service is intended only for people who are 18 years of age or older. We ask for your date of birth during sign-up to confirm that you meet this requirement. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will delete the account and its associated information.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: your email address and password when you sign up with email, or an anonymous identifier provided by Apple when you use Sign in with Apple. If you choose to hide your email with Sign in with Apple, we receive only the relay address that Apple provides.
- Profile information: your display name, profile photo, short bio, and date of birth. You can update these at any time. Your date of birth is used for age verification and is never shown on your profile.
- Plans: the activity type, short description, and time of the plans you post, and the plans you join by sending a Ping.
- Community content: the posts (text, a photo, or both), likes, and comments you share in Community.
- Messages: the text and photos you send in one-to-one chats.
- Reports and blocks: the reason you select and any details you add when you report content or a user, and the list of users you block.
Information collected automatically
- Device and technical information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, and crash diagnostics. Your time zone is used to decide when "tonight" begins and ends.
- Usage information: actions such as posting a plan, sending a Ping, opening a chat, or viewing Community, used in aggregate to keep the Service reliable and secure.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, health data, or biometric data. We do not ask for your gender, relationship status, or similar sensitive characteristics. The Service only accesses your photo library when you choose a photo to add to your profile, a post, or a chat, and only uses your camera when you choose to take a photo for your profile or a post. We do not scan your library in the background.
3. In-app purchases and payment data
The Service offers optional in-app purchases, including Coins (virtual items used for extra Pings and extra plans) and the Tonit VIP auto-renewable subscription. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. This section describes how purchase-related information is handled from a privacy perspective. Rules for using Coins and VIP are in the Terms of Service.
- What we receive: when you make a purchase, Apple may share transaction information with us such as the product identifier, transaction identifier, purchase date, subscription status, and renewal or expiration date. We use this information to deliver your Coins, activate or extend your VIP status, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and meet legal and accounting obligations.
- What we never receive: we do not receive or store your payment card number, banking details, billing address, or other payment credentials. Those are handled entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
- Purchase records we keep: we keep records of your Coin balance, Coin transactions, and subscription status linked to your account so that we can provide what you purchased and support Restore Purchases.
- Subscription management and refunds: subscriptions are managed through your Apple Account settings. Refund requests are handled by Apple. When Apple notifies us of a refund, we may adjust your Coin balance or VIP status accordingly.
4. How we use information
- To create and manage your account and verify that you are 18 or older.
- To show your plans to others, let others join them, and let you join theirs.
- To deliver your messages and photos to the people you chat with.
- To display your posts and comments in Community and on your profile.
- To deliver in-app purchases, track free daily Pings and plans, and manage VIP status.
- To keep the Service safe, including acting on reports within 24 hours, removing content that breaks our rules, and blocking abusive users.
- To fix bugs, prevent fraud, measure reliability, and improve the Service.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service and EULA.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, we do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.
5. Tracking, advertising, and analytics
- We do not use third-party advertising networks in the App.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.
- We do not sell personal information as that term is commonly defined under privacy laws such as the CCPA.
- Limited diagnostics and crash information may be used only to operate and improve the Service.
6. What others can see
- Your display name, profile photo, bio, VIP badge, plans, posts, and comments are visible to other users of the Service.
- Your messages and chat photos are visible only to you and the person you are chatting with.
- Your email address, date of birth, purchase history, Coin balance, reports, and block list are never shown to other users.
7. How information is stored and protected
Your information is stored on secure cloud servers operated by us and our hosting providers. Data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols and protected at rest with access controls that limit access to authorized personnel who need it to operate the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.
8. How information is shared
We share information only in the following situations:
- With other users, as described in "What others can see."
- With service providers that host our servers, store data, and provide crash diagnostics on our behalf. They may use your information only to provide services to us and must protect it under appropriate contractual safeguards.
- With Apple, to process purchases, restore purchases, and support Sign in with Apple.
- For legal reasons, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, or is necessary to protect the safety of any person, to address fraud or security issues, or to protect our rights.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, in which case your information would remain subject to this Privacy Policy or a successor policy with equivalent protections.
9. How long we keep information
- Plans are shown only for the evening they are posted and expire at midnight in your time zone. Expired plans remain in your plan history until you delete your account.
- Profile information, posts, comments, and messages are kept while your account is active.
- When you delete a post or comment, it is removed from the Service. When you close a plan, it is removed from Tonight and kept only in your plan history.
- When you block or report a user, your conversation with that user is removed from your chat list.
- When you delete your account, we delete your personal information from our active systems within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records—such as purchase or fraud-prevention records—for legal, tax, or security obligations. Backup copies may persist for a short additional period before being overwritten.
10. Your choices and rights
- Access and update: you can view and edit your profile at any time from the Me tab.
- Manage content: you can edit or close your plans and edit or delete your posts and comments in the App.
- Delete your account: go to Me, then Settings, then Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and associated information as described above. If you cannot use the App, email naihuia2428@icloud.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel that separately in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
- Photo and camera access: you can change photo library and camera permissions at any time in your device settings. If you deny access, features that need a photo will not work until you allow it.
- Regional rights: depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, to restrict or object to certain processing, or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can exercise most of these rights directly in the App. For other requests, follow the guidance on our Support page.
11. International transfers
We may process and store information on cloud servers in countries other than the one where you live. When we transfer information internationally, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
13. Questions
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your information is handled, contact us at naihuia2428@icloud.com or visit the Support page in the App, available from Me, then Settings, then Support. To report a privacy or safety concern about another user or a piece of content, use Report on that plan, post, comment, profile, or chat.
